This section provides information about the used abbreviations. It serves also as an overview of all roles within the ECSA eco system. The detailed role-description and the rights and responsibilities can be found in other documents (for instance, the specific contract for each role).
- ECE: EuroCloud Europe asbl, which operates the certification service “EuroCloud Star Audit” for Cloud Services.
- ECSA: EuroCloud Star Audit. Certification scheme provided by ECE.
- CS: Cloud Service. The provider‘s SaaS, PaaS or IaaS product.
- CSP: Cloud Services Provider. A company/organisation which offers a Cloud Service.
- CSC: Cloud Services Customer. A company which plans to use or is using Cloud Services.
- ECSA-ACH: EuroCloud Star Audit – Accredited Chapter Organisation.A company or organisation which is fully authorised by ECE to be the exclusive representative office in a specified country.
- ECSA-AAO: EuroCloud Star Audit – Accredited Audit Organisation. A company which is accredited by ECE to offer certification services, and later auditing services to a CSP according to ECSA specifications
- ECSA-AA: EuroCloud Star Audit - Accredited Auditor. A person who carries out the ECSA audits. Must be associated to an Audit Organisation (AAO) and be trained by a senior Auditor.
- ECSA-sAA: EuroCloud Star Audit – Senior Accredited Auditor. An accredited auditor, who has several years of audit experience allowed to conduct training courses for individuals who want to be accredited as an ECSA-AA.
- ECSA-AEB: EuroCloud Star Audit - Accredited Embassy. An organisation which is accredited by ECE to act as a regional promotional agency. The Embassy is a main point of contact for CSPs and CSCs interested in ECSA services as well as accredited ECSA partners.
- ECSA-AB: EuroCloud Star Audit – Ambassador. A person who is accredited by ECE to promote ECSA and who refers an Auditing, Consulting or Training Organisation that is interesting in becoming a new ESCA partner.
- ECSA-ATO: EuroCloud Star Audit – Accredited Training Organisation. A company or organisation which is accredited by ECE to carry out ECSA trainings and provide training certificates like e.g. ECSA-Foundation Professional
- ECSA-AT: EuroCloud Star Audit - Accredited Trainer. A person who carries out ECSA training tasks at a CSPs or CSCs. Must be trained by a senior Trainer.
- ECSA-sAT: EuroCloud Star Audit – Senior Accredited Trainer. An accredited trainer who is allowed to conduct training courses for individuals who want to be accredited as an ECSA-AT.
- ECSA-ACO: EuroCloud Star Audit – Accredited Consulting Organisation. A company or organisation which is accredited by ECE to carry out ECSA compliant consulting services, facilitate self-assessments, offer compliance checks and use ECSA tools for vendor selection.
- ECSA-AC: EuroCloud Star Audit - Accredited Consultant .A person who carries out ECSA consulting tasks at a CSP or a CSC. E.g. supports to achieve the ECSA certification, assists at ECSA self-assessments or compares Cloud-service offers. Must be trained by a senior Consultant.
- ECSA-sAC: EuroCloud Star Audit – Senior Accredited Consultant. An accredited consultant who is allowed to conduct ECSA training courses for individuals who want to be accredited as ECSA-ACs.
- ECSA-ACADEMY: EuroCloud Star Audit - Academy. An online platform to perform the tests and training, which are obligatory, for individuals to achieve an accreditation status
- ECSA-Assessments: EuroCloud Star Audit – Assessments.Online tools that are used by CSPs, CSCs and ECSA auditors, trainers and consultants to perform several ECSA related tasks such as, Self-Assessment, Compliance-Check, Vendor-Comparison, Checklist-development as well as Auditing related work. The result of the self-assessment of a CSP himself can be published on the ECSA website and is a clear statement of the CSP’s sincerity and transparency. The Assessment Tool is not an alternative to a 3rd party audit.
- ECSA Foundation (FD): A person who wants to achieve a basic know-how regardingCloud Certification and Cloud Quality Controls
- ECSA Professional (PF): A person who want to support cloud certification and cloud quality related tasks (e.g. in the procurement department) within their own organisation
- ECSA internal Auditor (IA): A person who wants to support the preparation and the execution of an audit process within their own organisation.
