Cloud industry leaders and stakeholders from across Europe and the world to meet again this year at fourth annual EuroCloud Congress & Awards Gala in Luxembourg
We are proud to announce that the 4th annual EuroCloud Congress will take place on October 15th & 16th, 2013, at the Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg (http://eurocloudcongress.org).
Delegates from more than 20 European countries will gather again in Luxembourg for a unique two-day event fully dedicated to the European cloud computing sector. Run by the EuroCloud network (http://eurocloud.org), the show acts as a meeting place for business leaders, policy makers and researchers actively engaged in cloud computing and applications from across Europe and the world.
Bernd Becker, President of EuroCloud Europe, comments: “Last year’s attendance was really strong and so was the quality of the panel discussions and speakers. We were proud to welcome high profile delegates, key decision makers and European Commission representatives.
“This year, we are expecting more than 400 attendees and major keynote speakers and actors from the industry. The focus will essentially be European but also extended to worldwide best practices in cloud computing.
“We are thus happy to welcome in Luxembourg the non-profit consortium OASIS (Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards), which drives the development, convergence and adoption of open standards for the global information society”. The Congress will also welcome participation from the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) and other international organizations.
Keynote speakers, to be announced later this month, will include globally renowned cloud entrepreneurs, world-class experts and influential policy makers with a special focus on cloud computing. Major themes of the event will include cloud adoption, best practice and business impact of emerging technologies such as mobile applications and big data.
EuroCloud will deliver its pan-European cloud computing Awards on the evening of the 15th in the prestigious location of the Hotel Sofitel Kirchberg. With a shortlist featuring the cream of Europe’s cloud industry, the Awards will be presented in five categories: Best Startup, Best Offering, Best Use Case in the Public Sector, Best Use Case in the Private Sector and Best Business Impact.
These Awards recognize the organizations that encapsulate the heart of EuroCloud’s vision and highlight best practice within the industry. European countries participating in the competition include, among others, Austria, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK.
Tobias Höllwarth, President of EuroCloud Austria states, “I am delighted to see our Austrian champions, RUNTUSTIC, FLATCLOUD, RADIO BLIND POWER and EDM compete at the European level. I am sure they will prove and represent well the strong dynamism and expertise of the entire country within cloud computing and SaaS, and more largely the ICT industry”.
From a logistic point of view, early bird registration is already open: http://www.eurocloudcongress.org/register/, and participants can take advantage of reduced hotel rates and travel information (http://www.eurocloudcongress.org/category/travels-hotel/).
