Process adjustments
When transferring to Cloud services or upon introduction of Cloud
computing, it is often necessary that business processes be adjusted or
modified. The following points should be taken into account when adjusting
processes:
How often does the process take place per year / per quarter? Do
any changes in the frequency arise from the use of the Cloud
service? Do the changes make the process more important/less
important?
Are there changes concerning the contact persons or the persons
responsible, some of which are also located outside of the company?
Are there interfaces and "single points of contact" within the
company where communication may need to be bundled?
Are there any changes in the conditions for using a service (e.g.,
knowledge of the customer number, modified identification
procedures)?
Are the response times different (generally longer) than in the past?
This can also make it necessary that processes must be shared.
The processes can be improved with the help of a process modelling
method. The documentation of the modified processes serves to prepare
the integration of the service on the one hand, as well as to reveal any
necessary adjustments of service levels on the other.
Data management
In many companies, the IT is an historically grown entity. This means that, in
most cases, it has been strongly adapted to the wishes and peculiarities of
the users. This is particularly the case for organizations that have a large and
strong dependency on IT services .
Here are some simple examples:
Space used on file servers
Memory usage for personal files
Size of email inboxes
Upload and download volume
