SVG and Controlmatic: Professional CRM from the Cloud –
Private or Public?
Time and time again, companies are showing interest for CRM from the
Cloud, not sure about how and where to save their data; in‐house, in the
company’s own computer centre or off‐site?
The differences are made clear by taking a look at the practical applications
of two CAS PIA users. CAS PIA is the CAS Software Cloud solution for
customer relationship management.
For the variant of using CAS PIA through the in‐house computer centre at
the company’s headquarters, SVG Assekuranz‐Service GmbH took the
decision to use the so‐called “private” Cloud, as a subsidiary of the SVG and
KRAVAG insurance companies. The insurance experts have several business
units, numerous locations and more than 450 employees in the Sales Office
and Field Service. Customer data from the training and insurance areas as
well as insurance data from external databases must be merged, in order to
guarantee a professional level of customer service. A search was made along
the lines of an all‐in‐one system that neither gobbles up scarce EDP
resources nor requires new servers, but compiles all customer data from 29
individual programs in one single solution
.
A further requirement for the solution was a multifunctional import
interface in addition to the classical CRM functions. By using the GDV
interface created in the Private Cloud, current customer and contract data
flow into the software according to predefined standards.
The CRM project was initiated at two SVG insurance companies that had
merged. Together, they prepared a requirements catalogue, taking all
participating departments into consideration. Within eight months, live
operation could begin.
With CAS PIA, several business unit information systems that were
previously handled separately, have been linked and enable an all‐round
customer view. Data can be found quickly, and the employees have a
uniform level of knowledge.
Controlmatic Gesellschaft für Automation und Elektrotechnik mbH decided
against a ”private“ application and in favour of using CAS PIA in the Public
Cloud. As a service company with approx. 800 employees and 20 branch
offices, it is part of the Actemium brand. This service provider, working in
the areas of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Automation, Electrical
