Rapid elasticity
The services can be made available rapidly to the municipalities, elastically
and flexibly, and in many cases automatically. From a user perspective, the
resources should appear to be unlimited; continual monitoring and
proactive management of the platform has been established to enable this
to happen.
Measured services
The use of resources is measured and monitored and made available to
users of the virtual platform in a suitably measured way.
Security
Security principles are observed in the architecture and design of the
system, as per the requirements of the Federal Office for Information
Security (BSI) and ISO 27001. One special aspect of the project is its
proactive approach, which covers sensitive issues such as the protection of
public data as well as the confidentiality, availability and integrity of
systems.
Billing
A pay‐per‐use billing system for the actual resources accessed by each
user/customer is in realisation. Billing after use is also envisaged for
customers, that means one price per transaction regardless of the resources
needed for processing.
Availability
The kiv.TrustedCloud is available for productive use around the clock at a
rate of 99.95%; proactive monitoring and management that is as automated
as possible must form part of the system, so that any problems can be
avoided in advance or rapidly rectified (e.g. automatic workload spread,
automatic restart of any resources or services that fail, etc.).
Multi‐tenant capability
Individual customers get their own application and administration
environments made available to them. In turn, the users of these customers
must be able to have application environments of their own made available
to them. The customers are enabled to provider their end‐users individual
desktops and applications in a centralised manner.
